Formation Department

The formation department is responsible for the spiritual well-being of learners, staff, and other stakeholders. In liaison with the pastoral office, it oversees spiritual programs, guidance and counseling, talent nurturing, leadership development, and admonishment of undesirable character.

As a Christian institution, our core mandate is to guide and develop people who embody values and virtues consistent with our faith. Being overarching in nature, the department touches several areas and its key roles are summarized in the following KBA School Core Pillars.

Inculcating Christian Ethics and Values

The department facilitates daily, weekly, monthly, and termly programs that nurture Christian character and values among learners, staff, and parents. With a balanced spiritual diet, the KBA fraternity remains nourished through guidance, counseling, and empowerment programs. Professionals are also invited to enrich this foundation through timely teachings.

Spiritual empowerment comes through weekly bible verses, devotions, and termly services like the KBA Sunday, where staff, learners, and parents worship together. These moments inspire reflection, self-examination, and alignment with God’s will. Christian values instilled include:

  • Tolerance – Valuing and respecting differences.
  • Love – Binding us together as one family.
  • Integrity – Working with honesty and strong moral principles.
  • Respect – Defining the salvation within us.

Empowerment

In collaboration with the board and management, the department deliberately empowers stakeholders. Learners are trained to communicate boldly in line with the school language policy, where English is spoken daily except Thursdays (reserved for Kiswahili). Reinforcement, correction, and incentives strengthen this process.

The department also oversees co-curricular activities such as sports, drama, music, and scouting as integral to holistic education. Staff, especially teachers, are encouraged to upgrade themselves academically and professionally, ensuring their effective role in education and child upbringing.
